The Master’s Degree in Collaborative Educational Leadership (MA-CEL) helps our students transform their day-to-day practice and develop leadership techniques that create effective change in classroom, school districts or work settings. The focus of the program is to gain expertise in empowering diverse under-served populations to help close the achievement/ opportunity gap. Leadership theory, action research, and best practices are shared through a blend of online coursework and face-to-face cohort engagement. Our students build a professional network of educational leaders in their communities that champion and support excellence. The program is designed by and for teachers and other educators, around the framework of the California Standards for Teaching Profession, the National Board of Professional Teachers, and Teacher Leadership Standards.
Students become a member of a professional collaborative community dedicated to reflective practice, knowledge creation, and critical inquiry through action research. They experience authentic learning that is applied directly to the classroom, school, or organization. Together with our faculty, students share passion and enthusiasm for teaching and learning, and work toward an equitable and just education system.
