the Teaching in the Virtual Classroom Brochure (legal size)
(1MB PDF) "I am thrilled
to be taking these classes online and to be talking about my passionteaching
and learning. This online experience is very different...and I am really
excited about it." "My goal in
this program is to grow as instructor especially as an online instructor
and department chair. I want my students to come away with knowledge,
inspiration, and the empowerment to learn more.." About the program Fieldings innovative Teaching in the Virtual Classroom (TVC) certificate program, the most comprehensive of its kind, provides community and four-year college faculty, military trainers and faculty, corporate trainers, and K-12 teachers the skills they need to successfully develop, deliver, and evaluate online classes. Offered asynchronously online, the program is accessible using either dial-up or broadband connections. It is distinctive from other programs devoted to teaching online offered by other institutions in that it is designed to appeal to both K-12 and Higher Education populations. Participants will experience many of the learning and assessment strategies that they will be studying. The set of courses are designed to follow the model of coursework in the Fielding Ed.D. program such that the units will seamlessly articulate into the doctoral program for those interested in pursuing that degree and who apply and are accepted into that program. The courses have been developed and will be delivered by Rena M. Palloff, Ph.D. and Keith Pratt, Ph.D., both extremely well published and well known in the area of online distance learning. Rena and Keith have often been approached by those who have heard them speak at conferences and workshops asking them to develop a certification program that addresses the techniques they write about and present. Consequently, participants will have the opportunity to work directly with Rena and Keith in their area of expertise. What's In It for You
