Media Psychology and Digital Asset Management

PROGRAM DISCONTINUED

The Media Psychology and Digital Asset Management certificate program (MPDAM) is designed for people preparing for entry-level positions in this emerging field as well as those currently in the digital asset field who want to advance to management and strategic careers. The program focuses on what media professionals need to know about how to manage a marketing library with reusable media components and marketing collateral.

Media Psychology (MP) spans the full range of the human experience of media, including affect, cognition, and behavior—in activities, events, theories, and practices. Studies include various forms of mediated communication, such as pictures, sound, graphics, content, and emerging technologies.

Digital Asset Management (DAM) incorporates the efficient management of digital data and the strategic use of these assets. DAM consists of management tasks and decisions surrounding the ingestion, annotation, cataloguing, storage, retrieval and distribution of digital assets such as digital photographs, animations, videos, and music.

Learn how:

  • Media affects individuals and cultures
  • Media can be used for socially constructive purposes
  • Computer software and/or hardware systems aid in downloading, renaming, backing up, rating, grouping, archiving, optimizing, maintaining, thinning, and exporting digital files
  • Professionals manage the massive influx of digital content in areas of private and public operations, as well as user-generated content
