As one of the leading institutions in higher education for scholar practitioners in support of social and ecological justice, Fielding staff members enjoyed spending Earth Day connecting with other like–minded “Earthlings” in celebration of the world’s largest environmental movement – 50 years old and still going strong.

Earth Day was born in Santa Barbara after a devastating 1969 oil spill — and Fielding was founded in the same seaside city just five years later.

As the only graduate school to receive the Carnegie Foundation’s prestigious designation as a university that’s exemplary in community engagement, Fielding takes seriously our mission to addresses personal, organizational, societal, ecological, and global concerns in pursuit of a more just and sustainable world.
