Members of the Fielding community participated at the 2024 Academy of Management (AOM) Conference, held from August 9-13 in Chicago, IL. The AOM is a premier conference for nearly 10,000 students, academics, and practitioners in the scholarly management and organizational space. This year’s theme explored innovation for the future: policy, purpose, and organization.
We are proud to celebrate Dr. Patrice E. Rosenthal, Faculty in Human and Organizational Development (HOD), who is the Chair-Elect of the ODC Division. Next year, Dr. Rosenthal will assume the role of Chair of the ODC Division at the AOM Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.
At this year’s conference, Dr. Rosenthal organized and led the ODC Doctoral Consortium, where about 20 international doctoral students are engaged with faculty mentors and presenters from universities worldwide. Four of these students are from Fielding: Michele Leaver, Janet Nelson, Unique Brathwaite, and Lisa Kim.
Dr. Rosenthal also contributed as a panel member in a session that resonates with Fielding’s scholar-practitioner ethos, titled “Bridging the Gap: Aligning Academic Insights with Practical Excellence.”
The AOM conference is always an exciting affair – a chance to connect with new ideas and old friends. This year my main activity was to lead the ODC Doctoral Student Consortium. Colleen Cuddy, PhD, a Fielding alum was featured on the program. And a major ‘you heard it here first’: AOM 2025 will be in Copenhagen! — Patrice Rosenthal, Ph.D.
