April is Black Women’s History Month. We invite every member of the Fielding community to honor a Black Woman in their life and share her name. We would like to celebrate the names of Black Women that may not always be recognized but play a vital role in our lives.

How to participate: prepare a 300-word essay about the Black Woman you want to recognize. Share why she is important to you. Send the essay, accompanied by a photo or image representing her, to media@fielding.edu. We will share your story via Fielding’s Newsroom.

There are also ways to support the Black Student Association Fund with a donation in honor of a Black Woman in your life or send a gift to her. To learn more, click here. We will share her name in the next issue of FOCUS Magazine. 100% of your donation will go to BSA, supporting the Association’s work, including the speaker series. When donating today, receive BSA-branded items, books, and more. Check out opportunities and donate today. To learn more, click here. VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Allison Davis-White Eyes, Ph.D., will match every gift donated to the Black Student Association Fund 1:1 and up to a total of $500. Make a donation in April and double it!

Join Black Student Association on April 10 for a virtual event honoring Black Women’s History Month, titled Life, Identity, and Work: The Holistic Assessment and Treatment of Trauma and facilitated by Dr. Nakia Hamlett. To learn more and RSVP, click here.
