As organizations navigate complexity, rapid change, and the need for continuous learning, coaching is evolving to meet these demands. While team coaching is now well-established, group coaching is emerging as a powerful and distinct approach that fosters leadership development, peer learning, and meaningful connection. Backed by research and informed by theory and practice, group coaching leverages the collective wisdom of participants to drive reflection, insight, and sustained behavior change.
In this session, we’ll explore why group coaching is essential in organizations today, how it differs from team coaching, and the unique value it offers. We’ll examine the latest evidence on what makes group coaching effective, including key frameworks, psychological principles, and practitioner insights. Additionally, we’ll discuss the capabilities coaches need to develop in themselves, beyond those involved in 1:1 coaching, to skillfully coach groups.
Whether you’re an experienced coach, an HR leader, or an organizational change professional, this session will provide evidence-based insights and practical strategies to enhance your coaching impact.
Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Differentiate group coaching from team coaching and articulate why this distinction matters in organizational contexts.
• Identify the unique benefits and applications of group coaching for leadership development, peer learning, and organizational change.
• Summarize key insights from current research and practice on what makes group coaching effective.
• Recognize the core capabilities and skills needed to coach groups successfully.
