Join the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the 2024 Juneteenth Celebration event on Tuesday, June 18 at 8 a.m. PT | 11 a.m. ET.
Speaker Dr. Lenneal Henderson will host a special presentation entitled, “Juneteenth and Beyond: Celebrating Three Great Moments in Civil Rights.” Dr. Henderson will share insights regarding the three most decisive moments in Civil Rights history: Juneteenth, Brown V. Board of Education (1954), and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Fielding’s offices will be closed on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. Fielding is also a sponsor of Joy for the People Juneteenth Block Party hosted by Juneteenth SB on June 15 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT. About Dr. Lenneal Henderson
Dr. Lenneal Henderson is a globally esteemed urban scholar with over 30 years of experience. He has delivered lectures and provided consultancy services on a wide array of topics including housing issues, energy management, environmental policy, and public management. His expertise has been sought after by federal, state, and local governments, as well as by corporate and nonprofit sectors. Dr. Henderson currently serves as the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and holds the distinguished title of Eminent Scholar at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. In addition, Dr. Lenneal Henderson serves as a Mentoring Faculty member for the Educational Leadership for Change Doctoral Program at the Fielding Graduate University. As a scholar, academician, and humanitarian, Dr. Henderson’s contributions to academia have been recognized through various honors, including being awarded the Distinguished Chair in Teaching by the University of Baltimore.
