Organizational consulting is a unique business model… and an equally unique mind set. It is distinctly different from being a vendor or an expert. We have to learn how to market without selling, and how to lead from the sidelines. We have to create contracts that balance client engagement with consultant delivery. And despite all the surface variety, we have to understand the fundamental consulting process that we all share. This presentation will lay out the key components of a viable consulting business and what is required to get it up and running.
Jerry Talley
Jerry Talley started his career in Stanford’s Sociology department, where he taught for 18 years. Leveraging his research and assessment skills, he moved out into corporate consulting. After 15 years of pure assessment work, he opened a broad spectrum OD practice. His clients ranged from New York to New Zealand, mostly in Silicon Valley. His current practice is training, coaching, and mentoring new and seasoned consultants. His areas of special interest include work process design, advanced problem-solving, strategic planning, and organizational assessment.
