Biography

Dr. Amy Fisher Smith is a licensed clinical psychologist and core faculty member in the clinical psychology program at Fielding Graduate University. She has served on the executive committee of Division 24 of the American Psychological Association, The Society for Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology for almost two decades in various capacities, and currently serves as the division’s representative for the Divisions for Social Justice. She also serves on the editorial board of the Division 32 journal, The Humanistic Psychologist. Her research interests include qualitative methods, in particular phenomenological approaches, as well as genocide studies, the psychology of terrorism and conflict, the process of deradicalization from extremist groups, and trauma.
