Melissa Rivera, Ed.D.
Biography
Melissa Rivera, EdD, is Associate Faculty in the School of Leadership Studies at Fielding Graduate University, guiding doctoral students in the Leadership for Change program.
For three decades, she has been dedicated to participatory action research (PAR) focused on learning and leadership with schools, universities, non-profit organizations, social entrepreneurial companies, and a maximum-security women’s prison. Her passion for personal transformation, community development and social justice emerges through collaborative initiatives, such as the National Latinx Education Research and Policy Project (NLERAP) and Applied Emotional Mastery's Leadership Coaching Program.
She has co-authored publications with educators, entrepreneurs, artists and activists, including PAR EntreMundos: A Pedagogy of the Americas and Latino Education: An Agenda for Community Action Research.
She received her undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Brown University and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, respectively.
