Biography

Dr. Michael McElhenie has deep expertise in guiding big changes around the globe. With a foundation in neuroscience, emotional intelligence (EI) and crucial communication, Michael helps leaders navigate the dynamics of executive team and board relationships, and he is often called upon to help leaders scale, merge, integrate and evolve their organizations. His deep neuroscience background launched him into applied emotional intelligence in the early 90’s, and he served on the research, writing, and consulting teams of Daniel Goleman, Annie McKee, and Frances Johnston. For over three decades, Michael has supported executives around the globe in developing emotional, social, and decision-making intelligences. Michael and the Teleos team led the United Nation Development Program’s most successful global intervention called “Leadership for Results” aimed at developing emotionally intelligent leadership while creating solutions to critical challenges such as HIV/AIDS, women’s empowerment, and food/water access. Currently, Michael advises global leaders in times of crisis and change, and he works with them to develop empowering, innovative cultures and the emotionally intelligent leadership required to sustain success and navigate our VUCA world. Michael continues to evolve EI-concepts and practices, and his book “Responsive Intelligence” is on track to be published in Summer 2022.
