Dr. Patricia A. Oelrich

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Dr. Patricia A. Oelrich passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, after a heroic 5-year battle with cancer. Dr. Oelrich’s passing is a profound loss, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her and had the opportunity to work alongside her.

Dr. Oelrich was the first in her family to graduate from college at Western Illinois University. She later earned her Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding in 2015. Her dissertation title was Role and Effect of Social Determinants on Moral Judgement: A Study of Employee Behavior When Communicating Using Social Technology. She served as a past Chair of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer for Fielding for 10 years.

President Katrina S. Rogers, PhD, shared: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Patricia Oelrich, a cherished member of the Fielding community whose contributions have shaped our institution in profound ways. She was a thoughtful and generous leader of our board of trustees, a dedicated alum, and, most recently, she served on the Fielding’s Investment Committee. Her legacy will continue to inspire us, and her absence will be felt deeply. Our thoughts and hearts are with her family during this difficult time.”

Her contributions and spirit have left an indelible mark on our institution, and she will always be remembered in our hearts.
