The EdD Leadership for Change Program at Fielding Graduate University is proud to announce the new scholarship honoring long-term faculty members and leaders of the Program, Dr. Kathy Tiner and Dr. Judy Witt.
The scholarship honors Dr. Kathy Tiner and Dr. Judy Witt, long-time academic leaders and faculty members of our EdD program. Over the years, both invested their passion, skills, and time in helping the Program’s students and alumni develop into strong change agents who have transformed educational and social service agencies, systems, districts, and schools—in elementary, secondary, and postsecondary domains. This scholarship, bearing their names, ensures that Drs. Tiner and Witt’s legacies will endure by way of providing financial support for current and future students to persist in and complete Fielding’s EdD Program.
Fielding represents all that’s best in adult learning. My experience as a student, alumni, and dean all converge on the caring attention faculty consistently give to their students and to providing the highest quality and most effective learning environment I have encountered. It’s that faculty dedication that made the difference for me. I am happy to support Fielding and its students. -Judy Witt, PhD
The passion EdD students bring to their doctoral work is inspiring. Their dissertations represent diverse thoughts and promote new knowledge and action. The most beautiful part is watching our alums continue their work in their communities and organizations after graduation. The greatest need I have observed with Fielding students during my tenure has been additional financial support to earn their doctoral degrees. And now, they have added challenges and costs because of COVID-19. I am pleased to support our students along with Judy Witt, through this scholarship. –Kathy Tiner, PhD
